What is ISTDP?
ISTDP is a scientifically validated method that allows one to rapidly come to a deep understanding of patterns of relating to oneself and one's feelings. It is effective across a broad range of difficulties. It differs from a classic psychodynamic therapy in that it addresses core psychological problems through an intensive engagement, a focused observation and a caring attention of minute to minute interactions and to internal experiences.
The work involves paying close attention to how your anxiety manifests itself physically and to the ways feelings are avoided. Together we create the conditions required for buried emotions to be experienced in the sessions so that they can be integrated in a healthier manner. This method requires that both you and I put all our efforts toward achieving our goal to understand you with love, care and precision.
